Books

From Medivia Online Wiki

Books are the cornerstone of the mysteries in Medivia. Not only do they have information on the mysteries yet undiscovered, they were also the birthplace of many quests. Most books can be found inside libraries although some can be found random places.

This list includes only the books that are currently spawning in-game on a daily basis.

Dark Brown Book.gif "Rune of Power" Map.png
Elder wizards know of strange dwarven magic that imbues minerals with a special properties. This is how runes of power works; they use it to improve the quality of metal in order to make it more durable. But some sinister forces found other uses of this powerful rune. They imbue sacrificial stones in order to link them directly with the realm of the demons. The power created after taking a life travels towards their masters making them stronger with each death.
Dark Brown Book.gif "Eschen is prepared for war (...)" Map.png
Eschen is prepared for war. If Thoris steps on our land they shall be eradicated, they may have an advantage in numbers, but we are far more experienced. Their numbers total between thirthy and forty thousand soldiers along with a thousand horses, we cannot let them cross our borders.
Book (Small Purple).png "Farmers Report" Map.png
It was a good year, we have collected enough crops. So many, that we do not need to worry about money at all. We sold much of our grain to Eschen, they paid quite generously as they are gathering an army in case of war. I hope the disease that killed all the plants two years ago doesn't return any time soon, may the White Lady help us!
Book (Black).gif "Ancient Past of Eschen" Map.png
The great ruins of Eschen, built during a time now in the distant past, and for no apparent purpose. Legends speak of a city priest who received visions of an ancient artifact created by the White Lady herself, an artifact whose only use is the ability to summon forth great beams of light without the need for charging or replenishment by wizards.
The nights of ancient times were far more dangerous than those of today, the boundless dark allowed monsters to appear anywhere at any time, so the king of the ancient land came to the conclusion that the only way to keep his city safe was to obtain the artifact and harness its power to illuminate the city forever.
Book (Black).gif "Gods of Medivia" Map.png
Gods of Medivia
Book (Black).gif "Keepers of the Stone Temple" Map.png
Old tales say that the stone temple is older than Eschen. As the story goes, long ago a man came here guided by light and built a temple stone by stone, and in those dark times people found shelter within, the light kept away the monsters, and thus the faith in our goddess grew. Hundreds of years passed and the people no longer remember this story, but we do - the keepers of the White Church.
Dark Brown Book.gif "Sir Jonas Warriors Guild" Map.png
The Sir Jonas Warriors is a guild founded with the goal to protect the innocent and fight off evil forces. We do not use magic, but we don't forbid others from doing so. All we care about is protecting the lands of Medivia. We are few - for to become one of us, one needs to prove himself worthy in the eyes of the King and people of our land. His name must be known in all corners of our realm, and when it is, then the time is right to join us.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Dragon Lair of Mittenhoff" Map.png
Following the fall of Umos, dragonkin fled and scattered, eventually settling and establishing their lairs all over the world. One rests south of the great mountains, where they live separated from the dangers of our world. Their numbers grow year after year, but they pose no threat to travelers unless provoked. Dragons dislike the company of humans, for they see us as unworthy of trust.
Some have tried to enter their lairs and never returned. Those who did, never thought about doing it again. Some mages have made use of spells to conceal their presence in order to study the dragons and their elder queen Archiona for academic purposes
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Elven City Secrets" Map.png
The city of elves is well known for its magical waters that restore strength and heal all wounds, but what is the nature of this water, and why is it only present in Lucindel? The scholars don't know for certain. The cause could be some great source of power, possibly an artifact buried in the depths of the earth. We cannot know for sure since the Elves would never dare taint mother nature by digging mines as the dwarves do. The archini believe that the actual cause of that healing property is the great river of mana itself. In fact, they say the city is built on top of the very source of the magical stream.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Minotaur Threat" Map.png
The great Eschenian builders of old knew very well that the walls of the city had to be built to withstand all manner of threats and attacks. During the years of brutal fighting in the first minotaur war, the minotaur kingdom and its people were pushed to the brink of extinction. They simply could not match the human Eschenians' superior defenses and weaponry, so in their great desperation to survive they fled and hid below the land of Eschen in order to rebuild their kingdom. The stories speak of an artifact that casts light all over their underground city as they prepare for the final war.
Eschen will be well prepared if such a threat were ever to arise, and if the situation were to escalate out of control, then the underground tunnels, along with the minotaurs' kingdom, would have to be buried forever.
Black Book.gif "The Orc Fortress" Map.png
While Eschen made war with the minotaurs, the dwarves of Mittenhof and the one eyed giants, the folk of Arak clashed against one awful and fearsome enemy - orckind. The conflict continues even to this day, and neither side seems to be letting up. The orcs have worked hard to establish their base, claiming a piece of land abundant with water and wildlife and using stone to fortify their kingdom against enemy attacks. They kept a vigilant watch over their fortress and guarded their lands, as well as regularly sending guard patrols to archer over ours. Then, several years ago, the orcs stopped leaving their castle, a change apparently due to the splitting of the orc clan into two parts, which they deemed a bigger threat to their kind than their human enemies.
Dark Brown Book.gif "White Light Faith I" Map.png
The White Light is always there to guide us through dark times. In order to be free from evil, one needs to cleanse his thoughts in an ocean of sacred knowledge, only then can he be safe. Our Lady shows the path and reveals secrets that others do not see, and through her guidance we are the light that protects Eschen.

Black Book.gif "Chronicles of Lucindel II" Map.png
The waters of Lucindel hold healing properties, cleansing to the flesh and refreshing for the soul. This magic reflects the situation in the nation and the people's feelings. The delicate balance we have created here can very easily be unmade.

Black Book.gif "The Border of Eschen I" Map.png
The border of Eschen was established hundreds of years ago. We are allowed to dig as far as the Stone Temple, cross that line and we risk war. The king of Eschen has agreed to allow us to mine on their territory for a monthly payment of 1000 precious stones, it is a reasonable price and no issue for us. They respect us, and we respect them.
Black Book.gif "The Border of Eschen II" Map.png
The King of Eschen spoke with me about the Manuscript of Fire. He knows it has been stolen and remains in our possesion. He said that soon the White Light will find out as well. We need to find a good explanation as to why it is in our hands.
Black Book.gif "The Border of Eschen III" Map.png
Their ruler is just. But their faith is corrupt and full of lies. They grow in number, perhaps soon they will try to control the King himself. We have sent our spies and discovered they are doing the unspeakable, burning people as they did thousands of years ago. Hopefully, the people will rebel and destroy them once and for all. It's important for us to aid them in this, we mustn't risk losing control in the region. The so called "heretics" are hiding south of Arak. We have sent some equipment there hoping they might be the solution we are looking for.
Black Book.gif "The Passage I" Map.png
The passage between Mittenhoff towards the great lake of Imar is under construction. Our miners reported no problems during their work. If everything goes according to plan it will be finished in two weeks.
Black Book.gif "The Passage II" Map.png
Karmir broke through a wall and it sprung a leak. We did expect leakage, we are tunneling below a lake after all, but it will clearly slow our progress. We have to fortify the cave walls and get rid of any water. I don't want to inform the King just yet.
Black Book.gif "The Passage VI" Map.png
The King sent his soldiers, but they never returned, then he sent another unit. Karmir came to me today, he wants to see what is going on in there. But if the King hears that someone disobeyed his orders, they will be thrown into the lake of fire. I tried to stop him but he did not listen.
Black Book.gif "The Passage VII" Map.png
Karmir returned a week later, pale as a corpse. He was covered in dirty old spider webs and was repeating the same word over and over again - "Thornag". Before I could take him to our mage for help, he cast himself into the burning lake. I informed the King of what had happened, he said that our priority was to seal the passage and not allow any miners near it.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Strife with Arak I" Map.png
Arak folk think they can get away with destroying our mountain. They're trying to open mines without our permission. We've already sent guards to scare them away, but for how long. The situation is getting more intense as of late due to Arak cutting us off from their precious vodka stocks in revenge. Our dwarves are furious and demand blood. We won't do anything for now, we have to wait.

Dark Brown Book.gif "Magic" Map.png
There are two kinds of spells: rune-spells, and spontaneous spells.
Rune-spells are cast on blank runestones and some mana is used up in this proces. This stones can easily be carried around and store the specific spell. It can be used at any time, and only some require further investment of mana.
Spontaneous spells are cased in the heartbeat they are needed and take effect instantly. Most of these spells are spells of healing but some of them are agressive and some even have more astonishing effectes, as invisibility, illusionary shapechage etc.
Dark Brown Book.gif Most monsters are... Map.png
Most monsters are far more dangerous when you're attacked by more of them. Keep in mind that you can defend only one opponent at a time. Use this to your advantage and attack single monsters with help of other heroes. Don't get sourrounded by monsters, that might be your death even if the monsters are not that powerful.
Dark Brown Book.gif "My Travels" Map.png
As the orcs approached I've hidden myself in the bushes near the lake. I did hardly dare to breath as they met only some inches from my nose. I thought my wild beating heart might betray me to this murderous beasts.
I overheared the greenskined brutes. 'charach' (or so) one said and the other responded the same way, then they began to chat in their strange language, certainly talking about some gruesome plot against mankind. Talking they wandered away and after they vanished from my view I quickly got up and headed to Thais as fast as I could.
Dark Brown Book.gif Once upon a time... Map.png
Once upon a time there was a little gnome.
And as all gnomes he was a treacherous, greedy coward (and that's pretty treacherous, greedy and cowardish). One day in the middle of a deep forest the little gnome met a little girl wearing a pretty red cap. As the greedy gnome saw that she was carrying a bag full of finest bread and a flask of wine, he pretended to be starving and begged the little girl for food and water in a way anoying as only gnomes can be (and that's pretty anoying). But the girl was warned of treacherous gnomes by a valiant huntsman she met before and she quickly ran away from the greedy little gnome. The gnome became angry but was afraid to steal from her, because she might have been stronger than him. So he wandered into the woods cursing as only gnomes can curse (and that's pretty ugly). By chance he almost stumbled over a sleeping bard. Quickly figuring out the magical nature of the flute lying near the sleeping bard, he stole it as quickly as only a gnome can do (and that's pretty quick). Using the magic flute he lured a pack of wolves to the little girls grandmas house and let the beasts chase both into the wilderness and laughed wickedly as only gnomes can laugh (and that's pretty wicked). Laughing the gnome gulped the wine and swallowed the bread as fast as only gnomes can (and that's pretty fast). So he lived in the woods and molested squirrels happily ever after.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Birth of the Elements BOOK FOUR" Map.png
Fardos connected himself with air, and its child was called Nornur, fate. Nornur envied the brother Crunor because of his shape, as he was hardly more than wind and nebulae, and he asked he brother for assistance in creating a shape for him. But no matter how hard the brothers tried, Nornur couldn't appear to be much more than a shadow of a ghost.
Thus Nornur decided to create creatures in order to reveal himself. Thus the spiders came into the world, which are able to web their ghostlike spiderwebs, which copy Nornurs shape, and thus praise and honor him.
Also Uman and Sula, the sea, found together, and they conceived Bastesh, the unfathomable one. She was exceedingly beautiful, and the Godly were astonished. But Fafnar, the sun, looked upon all this beauty full of envy! When the newly born Bastesh looked up to her, she attacked her with fiery claws in the face and scratched it dreadfully. Probably Bastesh would not have survived the attack of her sister, had not the other Gods hurriedly come to help and driven away the ravishing Fafnar.
Bastesh however was frightened and disfigured. Full of fear she fled into the embrace of her mother Sula. In the depths of the seas the unfathomable one hides herself since that time, and little is known about her and her workings. Only the fact that the sea has been populated since that time by numerous creatures, may tell us that Bastesh seems to create these in the depth. In addition it is said that since that time the water of the seas is salty from the tears, which the disfigured Bastesh sheds out of anguish and pain.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Citys of the Continent" Map.png
Vilias is a small village on an isle southwest of the mainland. Its under the rulership of the Thais monarchy. Its rumored that beneath this isle are caves and dungeons of unknown but certainly ancient origin.
On the mainland is the city of Thais, ruled by the wise and just King Medivus. His explorers found the new soulvortex on this isle and build this base to protect and train the incoming heroes.
In the far northwest is the city of Carlin, that is ruled by amazons. The stuborn so called queen refuses to accept the rulership of the Thais monarchy over the whole continent.
At the great bay, east of Thais lies a rotten town of criminals. Little is known about it and only the most ruthles people even think about travelling there.
The dwarfen town, north of mount sternum, the central Medivia mountain massive, is the home of the Medivia dwarfs. If you are looking for smiths of unparraleled skill you should travel there.
Farer north, at the northern shores you find the elven city of Ab'Dendriel. There live the elves, masters of nature and masterhunters.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Clerics" Map.png
Clerics conenctrate on the magics of nature and acquire great healing powers. They also adept in the use of some offensive and protective spells.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Creations of Humans BOOK THREE" Map.png
All this however could not turn the war luck against the dark hordes. Whereever Banor appeared personally to lead the armies of humans, they triumphed, but on the other battlegrounds they were too often crushed by the dark crowds.
Thus Banor asked the gods to help him and the gods in their infinite wisdom created the portal of the souls. By means this mystic of gate souls from planes of existence far, far away of Medivia could be called in order to assume the shape of heroes.
With these champions as leaders the humans turned the tables in the great war. They alone under all the mortals had the possibility of becoming similar to Banor, uniting power and cunning. Thus the hordes of undead and their terrible leaders were slowly but inexorably overwhelmed.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The First Creatures BOOK TWO" Map.png
Brog however laughed over the dragon, which he had create, because he roamed over Medivia and was a terror to the few other creatures. Brog was fascinated by this created being and its terrible children, although they showed him neither loyalty nor respect. Thus Brog created further life, imitiating his shape, in order to please him, and so the cyclops entered the world.
Zathroth however was angered, because he thought the cyclos stupid and awkward. Too little trouble did they spread in the world, because they quarried in Medivia for metals and enjoyed to process it with fire and force. They were too few for his likes, because they hardly grew in numbers.
Thus Zathroth reprimanded his blockheaded son and ordered him to create new life. For he himself still could not understand the secret of life. Under his guidance the first trolls, numerous and vexatious, developed but still without the malicious cunning, which Zathroth desired. Next father and son therefore created the orcs. And the orcs turned out just like the dark God wanted them. They flowed over Medivia, spread out and began to devastate it.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Great Creation BOOK TWO" Map.png
But even at the culmination point of the creation Zathroth bundeled all his destructive powers to a weapon and pushed it with all the strength that he could muster into the heart of Medivsula, whose existence he did not want to endure any more. And as the divinity was weakened by the creation and without suspicion and resistance, the deadly attack penetrated to the core of her being and destroyed her.
The elements - fires, water, earth and air - were jerked out of their harmony and landed at the base of the column of time.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Scouts" Map.png
Scouts are great archers and also their spears hardly miss their marks. They are able to cast some minor spells of healing and protection.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Sorcerer" Map.png
Sorcerers are masters of magic. They posses an enormous arsenal of spells of protection and destruction.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Soulvortex" Map.png
Its said that in ancient times, the gods created a great vortex to allow the souls of spirits from 'beyond' enter the realm of Medivia. Through this vortexportal many great heroes were able to manifest themselves on Medivia. In their new bodys they fought againt the forces of destruction. But also agents of destruction and evil entered the world through this portal. More and more the dark forces used the portal to spread over Medivia and to annoy, disrupt and subvert the brave people of the world. Some of the evil spirits remained long enough in this world to wreak even more havoc on the good people of Medivia. Destruction of all that others had built, slaying of new manifested souls as soon as they left the vortex.
The gods watched in grief what had become of their great accomplishment. And one day Uman and Banor combined their awesome forces and split the vortex. One strand now aimed to the isle of rookgaard, the other one remained aimed on the temple of Thais.
From this day on the newborn heroes awakened on the holy and protected isle of rookgaard and only the stronger and better prepared souls could travel to the continent.
Guided by omens an expedition of brave knights from the thaian order of the knights of noodles traveled the perillious seas the the remote isle of rookgaard and discovered the new soulvortex.
Soon this base was built and this fine academy founded.
Praise the gods and our King.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The War over the Creation BOOK FOUR" Map.png
The good Gods created and threw race after race into the struggle about the world. All of them were defeated! :Almost everyone of the old races, which we know only as the Ancients, was defeated and buried by the sands of the time, because they were no match to the agressive rage and the emotionless intrepidity of their opponents.
According to our knowledge, only the delicate elves in their cities deep in the forests and the dwarves in their fortresses deep under the mountains survived the corpse wars, although at some campfires rumors are spread about other races, created by both sides for this unholy war, and of which some individuals are said to still be around.
Just as strong and powerful as these peoples were, they were one-sided and of little flexibility. Worse still: Some creatures succumbed to the temptations of Zathroth about power and great knowledge. They switched sides, and rumor has it that the most powerful of the Ancients were hurled out of this world by the good Gods for their betrayal to suffer eternally in the sphere, which was created in order to punish them for their misdeeds, and changed to what nowadays is called the daemons.
All their magic, which was probably given to the old peoples in excess, could not make them victorious, and they and their buildings disappeared gradually from the face of Medivia.
Dark Brown Book.gif "The Warriors" Map.png
Warriors are unparraleled in close combant. They are masters of most weapons and the shield. A skilled knight can inflict enormous damage even with the lesser weapons

Black Book.gif "Dragon Examination part 2" Map.png
These ancient beings are no threat to humanity as long as people dont step in on their territory.
Dragons love being independent. They will never accept living with humans.
If you ever encounter a dragon on your path you better act like this is a big mistake, or you will be burned into ashes in a blink of an eye. You can also try to talk to them, because of all living monsters, dragons are probably the only intelligent race.
Black Book.gif "Dragon Examination part 4"
To be honest I've spent a great time examining these great creatures, and I would never call them evil beings.
I talked to at least seven dragons and had a long chat with three of them. One allowed me to actually mount it, but I'd strongly advise you not to try it.
I had to fight three dragons, from which I killed one, hurt the other one, and the last one was so big and great, that the greatest magic spell I could conjure, instead of making a big mass of fried meat out of it, (which happened to the first one) it only tickled him.
Magin Karadin, 344, January 15
Book (Dark Brown).gif "Cursed Wisdom - X" Pharaoh's Pyramid
Cursed Wisdom - X
It started. I knew it would be nothing good. Today Uliax made use of all those preparations. The lines burned with unimaginable flame, mindless creatures melted into some kind of gel. Pages, scrolls and books started to fly around him, and give away all of their knowledge straight to his mind. The screaming of some unknown creature torn apart one of the demons he summoned. Air was getting thicker and thicker as Uliax's power was growing. From under the surface spirits appeared of old magins, screaming in pain, trying to make him stop but they were helpless. I felt how my skin was slowely burning and trying to get out of my body. I made eye contact with the other guy. He run into the chest, gave it a big kick and pulled out his wife from the whole in the floor. They started running in the direction of the main entrance, where Sem was turned into the doors. I caught them at a corner and yelled in his ear to follow me. They agreed and we run into my tunnel. Just when we hit the hole, one of the demons caught the guy. The poor lady wanted to go back for him, but I pushed her strongly into the direction of tunnel, and pulled a stick I left in the entrance to make it collapse. Now there was only one way - out of it.

Dark Brown Book.gif "Rashed" Map.png
When the ancients split up in search of their place in the world, some of them reached territories much more distant than others. Traveling through wild and dangerous backwoods they came to the land from which there was no return.
They came to a land full of sand and heat, where the sun burned them with their light throughout every single day.
After a few years of a difficult journey, they finally found a fertile and rich place, ideal for establishing a city.
Unfortunately, the place was also taken by one of the powerful dragons named Umos. The ancients have long debated with Umos to allow them to settle next door, but the dragon, knowing human greed, did not even let them stand on his land. In the end, the ancients decided to get rid of the dragon. Many man were killed then, torn apart, with no chance of victory. However, a man other than everyone stepped in front of the crowd. Rashed, tall and strong, with blond hair, dressed only in light armor and sandals. He held in his hand the spear he used to call The Light. Rashed lunged at the dragon, and as soon as the dragon tried to burn him in the sea of ??burning sulfur, he deftly dodged the attack and continued on towards the enemy. Umos slashed with his paw, big as a bear, but only air was in his way. Rashed, avoiding the evey blow, finally reached Umos and slashed his legs, inflicting superficial, meaningless wounds. They fought for a while, until finally Umos, having enough of this struggle, waved his wings and rose into the air, along with Rashed, clinging to his tail. They flew far away and few people could see what was happening there. Rashed climbed the ridge of Umos, holding his spear in one hand.
Still avoiding the panic attacks of the dragon he reached his head, grasped his neck with his loins, and with all his strength sank the spear into the skull of Umos. The dragon howled loudly, and his roar could be heard even in distant countries in the north. In the end his body hit the sands of the Najira, which means victory.
Rashed slipped out of his body with difficulty and tired fell to the ground. So he was appointed the first ruler of the Desert. He ruled for 80 years, giving us his commandments and establishing the law until finally at the age of 103 he left for the afterlife. He still governs us and continues to look after us, now as God, and his servants called Pharaohs give us his will. May his name never be forgotten.
Black Book.gif "Recipe for Unhealing Draught" Map.png
Take 3 human eyes and boil them in a cup of water.
Add oil to maintain a good condition and leave it for a month unsealed, hide it from sunlight.
After a month add blessed water and crushed human bones.
Unhealing Draught is to be used against the undead.
If one is slowly turning undead, the draught will stop the progress.
Be careful though as the toxins inside are very strong and if you give draught to healthy person, he will surely die.
Black Book.gif "The dragon race I, II & III" Map.png
The dragon race I
Scholars tried to understand the origins of dragons since the dawn of time.
Since the dragons are social between each other they remain individuals for the rest of their life. The stronger magical power within a dragon the more intelligent it is. The older they get the stronger they become, with each cycle their mana rises and their magic allows them to understand the language others speak, so they can communicate with us. Dragons hate other races for some unknown reason, the mythos state that in ancient times we used to live peacefully with them until Umos was alive.
The dragon race II
Besides normal dragons we all know other known types of dragons are: Lords, Albino and Frost dragons. Along with those types, there are even older of their species that have great power but don't initiate fight with other beings unless they provoke them, for example by entering their lair. Archiona is the oldest alive dragon we know of, the druids used herbs and other magical powers to hide their presence in the lair from dragons and observed it for years. This particular dragon is far greater than anything we have ever fought against, its the mother of dragons and their queen. We have yet to locate the famous dragon king.
The dragon race III
The albino dragons are speculated to be the closest offspring of Umos. It was stated in the mythos that his scales were white as snow, and the hard skin was like metal. The albino dragons usually are rejected by other dragons since they are seen as an ominous sign.
Not every albino dragon is related to the father of dragons. One in thousand is born like that, they usually are killed by their brethren until they reach adulthood.
Dark Brown Book.gif "Yehsha" Map.png
I made right decision about leaving Osaris. I was thinking it is a wealthy and lovely town until I had a chance to take a look at Yehsha. It's walls are taller than any of Midland Castles, and it's towers are overlooking half of this little continent. But what really made me stand in a middle of the city with my mouth opened, was it's people. They are all like a big family. They all believe in Rashed stronger than anyone from Osaris and they reject Elyons. This is not a place for people like me. I do not pray to their god, they see me as some kind of danger, but they don't want to show it. Current King, called here the Pharaoh is like a second God here. They listen to him as to the voice of their creator. And their army... numerous, powerful and loyal. None of Midland forces can match this strenght. We should be happy that Yehsha is surrounded by deserts, because otherwise they would have conquered our lands long time ago.

Book (Small Grey).gif "Honor I"
In the eyes of the centaurs, honor is everything. It is the essence of who they are, the driving force behind every action they take. They believe that honor is not something that can be earned or bestowed upon them, but rather something that must be earned through their own actions.
Book (Small Grey).gif "Honor II"
For the centaurs, honor is closely tied to their prowess as warriors. They believe that to be respected, one must be a skilled fighter, both with the sword and with the bow. To them, the art of sword and bow is not just a means of defending their territory, but a sacred ritual that embodies their commitment to honor.
Book (Black).gif "The fearsome dragon's I"
The Boggles have never been brave creatures. They hide in their caves, their warty skin blending in with the slimy walls. They huddle together, chattering in their strange, croaky language, and avoid any creature that might pose a threat to them.
Book (Black).gif "The fearsome dragon's II"
And the dragons are the greatest threat of all. They can swoop down from the skies, their sharp talons ready to snatch up any creature that crosses their path. They can breathe fire that can burn through stone, and their roar can shatter the earth.
Book (Black).gif "The fearsome dragon's III"
For the Boggles, the dragons are the stuff of nightmares. They see them as monstrous beasts that should be avoided at all costs. They tell stories of dragons that have snatched up entire tribes of centaurs, carrying them off to their lairs in the mountains.
But there are some Boggles who believe that dragons might be more than just beasts. They say that the dragons are ancient beings, wise and powerful, with the knowledge that could help the Boggles in their struggle to survive.
Book (Black).gif "The fearsome dragon's IV"
These Boggles believe that if they could just find a way to communicate with the dragons, they might be able to learn from them. They dream of a day when they could sit at the feet of a dragon and listen to its wisdom, or even form an alliance with these powerful creatures.
But for most Boggles, the dragons are simply too terrifying to contemplate. They huddle in their caves, hoping that the dragons will never notice them, and praying that they will never have to face the full force of their wrath.
Book (Dark Brown).gif "Fairy war I"
It all began when the Fairies claimed a portion of the land that belonged to the Centaurs. The Centaurs, outraged, demanded the Fairies leave at once. But the Fairies refused, and so began the war.
Book (Dark Brown).gif "Fairy war II"
At first, the Centaurs seemed to have the upper hand. They were skilled fighters and had powerful weapons at their disposal. But the Fairies were cunning and resourceful, and they used their magic to great effect. They conjured spells that made the Centaurs' arrows fall short and swords blunt.
Book (Dark Brown).gif "Fairy war III"
The war raged on for months, and both sides suffered heavy losses. The Centaurs knew that they could not continue fighting forever, so they proposed a pact of no aggression. The Fairies agreed, and the war came to an end.
Book (Dark Brown).gif "Fairy war IV"
Despite the pact, the Centaurs and Fairies still eyed each other warily. There was a deep-seated hatred between them, and it would take a long time for wounds to heal. But as time passed, the two sides began to see the benefits of peace. They began

to trade with each other and share their knowledge once more. The pact of no aggression held firm, and the land was once again at peace.

Book (Black).gif "The champion of arena I"
Every year, the Centaurs host a tournament to find the greatest gladiator of them all. It is a fierce competition, with warriors from all over the land competing to claim the title of champion. The tournament lasts for several days, and the battles are brutal and unforgiving.

Book (Black).gif "We the Boggles I"
The Boggles are misunderstood. We have been forced to live in these damp and dark caves, while those wretched fairies frolic in the sunlight, singing and dancing without a care in the world. We once lived in harmony with them, but they grew arrogant and thought they were better than us. They used their magic to taunt us and play pranks on us, and it was all in good fun... for them.

return, the Centaurs let us be.

Many of the other tribes think we are disgusting and primitive because of our love for mushrooms, but we don't care. We know that mushrooms are our lifeblood, and we will do whatever it takes to get them.
