Food is usually any edible item that will regenerate Hit Points and Mana Points for a specific time, some food items serve only as ingredients, while Cooked Mealsprovide a variety of effects.
Fullness/Eating limit - Regular food will only get you up to "100% full", or 20 minutes, if you try to eat regular food that would take you over the threshold you will get a message saying "You are full.".
Some types of food can take you over that limit:
Dragon Ham and Hydra Ham can get you to 40 minutes or 200% full, while Frozen Ham can get you up to 60 minutes or 300% full, for this reason these types of food are often saved for Bedmages.
An exception to these rules is the Filling Octopus Meal, which keeps you fed for a full 16 hours. It is however not useful for bedmages due to its price and since you lose the Fed effect if you relog after more than 5-10 minutes (unless your bedmages happen to be particularly high-level). It can only be obtained from the Medivia Store.
Weight Efficiency - When hunting, it is important for the food you bring with you to have a good weight-regeneration ratio,
a popular choice isBrown Mushroomswhich can be bought from the shop, other possibilities includeFire Mushroomsandeven Orange Mushrooms, both obtainable through Farming.
Cost Efficiency - The most cost-efficient food is Ham, or Cucumbers, Fire Mushrooms, Orange Mushrooms and other growable food if you have the patience for it.
