Spectrum - a low rate server

Spectrum was a low-rate server launched on 20th of December 2014 at 20:00 CET and ceased to exist on 15th of August  2018 at 10:00 CET. Before that Legacy was the only available server and it was just called Medivianic.

It had the following rates and rules:

  • Experience was reffered to as 1x in comparison with todays standard medivian experience rate which used to be reffered to as 2x
  • Skills and magic levels took twice as much time to get as today
  • Tasks yielded only 25% of original experience
  • Frag system was exactly the same as on todays Legacy
  • Regeneration rates were twice lower than today
  • Loot rate was exactly the same as on Legacy
  • Level 30 was required for bedmaging in comparison to requirement of level 50 on Legacy.

As can be seen from above getting levels was much harder both gold and time wise. Runes took a lot of time to make, skills were hard to get, tasks barely gave any experience.

Transfer of the characters

All Spectrum players were given a choice to pick a server to transfer to. They could choose between Legacy and Destiny. Keep in mind that Destiny used to have the same rates as Spectrum at that time. At the beginning Iryont didn't want to give any kind of compensation for transfering to Legacy, a higher rate server. However due to negative community feedback it was changed to multiplying experience by two as well as all the tries in skills.  There was no compensation given for experience difference in tasks rewards. Magic level was set to remain the same because magic levels required the same ammount of mana on both Legacy and Spectrum. The only difference is that on Legacy regeneration was twice as fast as on Spectrum. The transfers were handled via website interface. The player who wanted to transfer had to leave his house beforhand. As soon as transfer button was clicked the character was moved to desired server and spawned in a temple. All items stored in depots have been transfered instantly with the corresponding player. Players owning premium houses were compensated and got premium house roses again. Some players got a lot of levels and skills due to transfering causing a huge shift in highscores on Legacy. There was a small bug with capacity, mana and health points of the Spectrum refugees fixed a few days later. In case of the players transfered to Destiny a lot of original Destiny population provided negative feedback as their server was much younger. Nevertheless the transfers provided a small boost to Destiny population.

Refugee status

Shortly after the merge happened Farkk the host of this wiki and MediviaStats issued a refugee warning. Any player who transfered from Spectrum when searched for in MediviaStats website had a big red subtitle as seen below:
