Legends speak of a city priest who received visions of an ancient artifact created by the White Lady herself, an artifact whose only use is the ability to summon forth great beams of light without the need for charging or replenishment by wizards.
:The nights of ancient times were far more dangerous than those of today, the boundless dark allowed monsters to appear anywhere at any time, so the king of the ancient land came to the conclusion that the only way to keep his city safe was to obtain the artifact and harness its power to illuminate the city forever.

:Old tales say that the stone temple is older than Eschen. As the story goes, long ago a man came here guided by light and built a temple stone by stone, and in those dark times people found shelter within, the light kept away the monsters, and thus the faith in our goddess grew. Hundreds of years passed and the people no longer remember this story, but we do - the keepers of the White Church.

The heroic powers were just about to seal the defeat of the darkness by steel and mana power but the wars had persisted for too a long time. The world was fragile, the boundaries between the worlds cracked by the enormous powers, which had been employed. Already the armies of the older races were readying themselves to recapture from the humans what the old ones regarded as theirs. Already the children of the darkness, hardly troubled by the undead, risen again to new powers, were waiting to spread chaos over the world. Already the dragons sharpened their talons on their rock, in order to rise again into air to devastate the world in a fiery nightmare. Already the victorious armies of humans threw possessive looks on new targets.

:Medivia's Renewal BOOK TWO
There the Gods on both sides stopped. They looked down upon the desintegrating world, and they decided an armistice, because they all wanted power over the creation, not its complete destruction. Thus the Gods threw the charm of the new beginning over the world! Only gradually the recovering sections of the old world started to rise from the nebulas of time, awakened the old races and old frights back to life. It is said that the city of Medivia was the first to rise again, barren of almost all life, without all magic, on a tiny island, deserted and almost devoid of life ... and nevertheless full of age-old secrets. And soon afterwards life returned to the world. Also via the portal of souls old and new heroes found their way to Medivia. Gradually larger sections of the old world emerged from the nebulas, further natures and miracles. But the world is still far from its former splendour and size, and we live in times of change. What today is still natural, may as soon as tomorrow be only a legend, what today is still fantasy, may already tomorrow be reality. But hear ye and listen: Bad spirits also arrived and still arrive by the portal in our realm, in order to do mischief in human shape. Thus one has to face many dangers, and often the world appears to be cruel and hostile.

:Orcs ARE intelligent. Though some dwarfes mumble about a shared hivemind of the greenskins, there is no evidence for that. Orcs have speech and are capable to learn other humanoids language quite well ... if they want, what almost never is the case. They lack a written language though. Some of the more educated orcs use human letters to write down orcish texts. Its rumored that the orcs we encounter now and then are just barbarians of their own kind and that there is a more 'civilized' orcish culture somewhere. There are some clues that the orcs indeed had a written language, but the modern orcs is unable to read it as we are.

Today I have seen the great white dragon flying around again. I am honestly starting to question my mind but it looked so real. It flew over the waters and headed back to the north west. I am sure it is up to no evil as long as we do not offend it. That is, if it actually exists...

The new soldiers arrived. Sadly, the thaian kingdom could not afford to send too many men as they are still struggling to keep the new city Venore, far to the east of Thais, under control. I do not understand why they would try to build a city within the swamp surrounded by dragons and protected by the elves. After all, we have 11 new workers and 7 new knights and more then enough materials to keep building houses.

After weeks of exploring we are finally back in Abukir. Darama, that is what the towns people call it now, is way bigger than any of us have dreamed it to be. We climbed over the mountain Kha'zeel. On the other side there is a huge desert. Our group split up. I joined the men heading north. After a few days of walking in the desert we had to climb another mountain range behind which we found a suiting place for a second retreat.

Last week the thaian kingdom sent another three ships. One was filled with materials and the other two were filled with workers and soldiers. From what I heard the situation near Venore has settled and the king wants to focus on colonizing every part of Darama now. The new arriver's immediately started heading north as they passed a smaller island right in front of Abukir on which the king wants a village as a control point.

Some of the plagues seemed to have stopped for no apparent reason. The illness that took Jolie hasn't been killing in weeks now, the tar clouds haven't returned, the mountains to the east stopped moving and there have not been any more earthquakes. Nevertheless, our corn is still burning down as soon as we try to grow it and we are running out of seeds. The thunderstorms also don't seem to stop. For now surviving is possible and the mood among my people is getting better. Maybe we cannot escape this continent but we will try our best to survive it. I hope Faris is alright. I finished his secret hiding room, just the way he wanted it. I miss him.

I don't know what's gotten into him. I was taking a walk with him and must have seen some sort of golden book in the tar. He tried to show me where in the tar it was, but I couldn't find it. His curiosity grew and he decided to get the book out of the tar. I warned him. I told him not to. He wouldn't listen. He stepped on the tar and after only 2 steps the tar started giving in, locking his feet in. He started panicking. Slowly, he drowned into the hot tar. I could not do anything for him. I screamed for help but it was too late...

A long, long time ago, when the continent of Darama was not discovered yet, the people of the earth all lived on the main land and it's surrounding islands. The main city was called Thais. Other big cities were Venore, the city surrounded by swamp, Carlin, the city ruled by women, Ab'dendriel, the elves city, Mittenhoff, the dwarven city and Garrogat, a city located on an island north east of Venore.

What happened to this city? Why do the great ones hate us? My beloved Jolie finally passed away. Death took her after weeks of suffering through the pain. I've never seen anything like it. I am sure it's the seventh plague that took her from us. Is there more coming? I fear my people cannot survive much longer. We ran out of wood for new ships but there is no point in building one anyway. The storm will drown them all. Our food supplies are still sufficient for now. We managed to catch some lions and hyaenas. The towns butcher wants to breed them as they can survive of just the plants we are still able to grow. Other than that, we only have fish from the small bay left. All of our corn burned away during the last nights. A group of men decided to search for the parts of the city the tar took. I tried to warn them but they wouldn't listen. I am sure they are all dead by now. We won't survive much longer if this doesn't stop.

Books are the cornerstone of the mysteries in Medivia. Not only do they have information on the mysteries yet undiscovered, they were also the birthplace of many quests. Most books can be found inside libraries although some can be found random places.
This list includes only the books that are currently spawning in-game on a daily basis.

"Medivia's Renewal BOOK ONE" | Novus Library
Already the daemons hammered on the walls of their breakable prison.
"Medivia's Renewal BOOK TWO" | Novus Library
