Revision as of 19:30, 22 October 2021
Basic Info
The Halloween Event starts with a spooky landscape change, festively decorated cities and a mysterious 'dungeon opening' to be found in the Ghostland near Thoris.
Even some creatures change their appearance!
The world will be changed during most of October and the beginning of November. During this time you can obtain special rewards that are only available throughout the event.
The event begins with the Autumn seasonal world change.
Want a cool outfit? Find a Hallows Witch, they can be found in the Ghostland as well as around cities, they can be lured away to other places. They change your outfit to one of a number of undead/spooky creatures for about 2 hours.
Of course, there will be rewards! Halloween is about celebrating and having fun together. Whether you are a new player or a veteran,
everyone can earn rewards by collecting Halloween Coins.
These coins can be used to purchase items from an NPC called Grim.
He is located in the Ghostland west of Thoris here.
(Or here on Novus.)
The Skeleton Warlord Outfit can be obtained by using a Golden Skull on your character (looted extremely rarely from creatures that drop Halloween Coins) to obtain the base outfit.
The outfit's addons, the cloak/helmet and hammer, can be purchased in either order from Grim for 10 Stuffed Bags of Halloween Coins each.
The addons for the Vampire Outfit which Grim and Vlad sell can only be bought once the player has faced Stage 2 of the event and the Face of Decay (you need to stand within its screen while it casts a spell, which is every 5 seconds, then it will count as you facing the boss).
Along with other halloween-themed decorations, candy pumpkins will appear in and around all major cities, when used they will give Lollipops, Chocolate Cookies, Candy or Halloween Coins!
Creatures dropping Halloween Coins
- Halloween Coins are dropped by all creatures during the Halloween Event.

The Face of Decay
WARNING: The information on the main boss event is outdated due to changes made in the mainland update!
This video shows the event taking place on Destiny: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/330004043
The Halloween time is upon us and each year the dangerous creature named the Face of Decay rises from the dead. Being immortal, he cannot be killed and he can only be locked away in the afterlife for a single year. The coffin that he is buried in deep below the ghostlands will always magically unlock, because of a curse that was put on it by Necromantica when the Face of Decay was created by the lich king Daevok.
The coffin will be unlocked on the 31st of October and the event will commence at different times on different servers, depending on whether they're NA or Europe hosted.
All year the undead creatures have been working on a wicked tool for their master to use. A magical Jade Crystal. These instruments of chaos are known for their nasty and unpredictable magic, thus most magicians are too afraid to create, let alone use them.
Citizens of Medivia, the Face of Decay will once again return and try to demolish the world as you know it. Forget your differences and unite in order to lock him away so Medivia can live to see another year.
Grim has already announced that he will reward those brave enough to defend their land. However, those too scared will have to go home empty-handed.
Those who take part in the killing of a boss (you need to stand within its screen while it casts a spell, which is every 5 seconds, then it will count as you facing the boss) will gain the ability to obtain the addons for the Vampire Outfit from Grim () and Vlad (), for a price of course.
The event begins with server messages speaking of ominous and evil presence around the major cities of Medivia.
- The very first wave summons Bats all over the cities, a few minutes later massive portals appear summoning literally hundreds of undead creatures in each city.
The free account cities face creatures such as Revenants, Ghouls, Crypt Shamblers, Watchers etc.; while the premium cities will even face such powerful creatures as Liches, Banshees, Wights, Skull Reapers, and LOTS of them! Even the necromancer boss Goshnir might make an appearance! - Once the portals spawn, they will keep summoning waves forever unless they are located and destroyed, it takes a lot of firepower as the portals seem to have a few hundred thousand hitpoints.
- Once all the portals are destroyed these messages will appear:
"All portals are destroyed but bats have been spotted in Ab'Dendriel, Venore, Osaris and Abukir! Face of Decay is still running wild! Quickly search for him and his Jade Crystal to stop this madness!"
"The Jade Crystal has been found somewhere near North Port! Face of Decay fled but managed to summon one last portal to retain the crystal from being destroyed." - This last portal (located here: ) will be the most difficult, it has more hitpoints than the others and it will summon, along with the creatures the first portals summoned: Wraiths, Abominations, Undead Behemoths and even Undead Dragons (only 1 or a few of each at a time). Halloween bosses Bloody Mary and Rowena Froggerly also spawn with the portal.
- Once the last portal is destroyed, you will be able to damage the Jade Crystal located slightly north of where the portal was, just shoot and destroy it.
- The Face of Decay will appear somewhere in the Ghostlands, he will summon many Pumpkin Summoners who will summon even more Pumpkin Warriors. The only approach to killing this creature seems to be to completely surround it with 200+ level blockers (the higher the better obviously) with healers and then shoot until it's dead (a few million hitpoints).
"Face of Decay has fled into the afterlife for this year's Halloween. Grim has set up a chest in the ghost land to reward those brave enough to fight this horror off. He is also willing to trade away shoulders for the vampire outfit to those brave men and women." - A massive chest will appear in the Ghostlands west of Carlin near Grim's location. Each participant will receive 2-4 rewards from the list below based on participation points. Participants will now also be able to purchase the Vampire Outfit Addons from Grim and Vlad (you need to stand within its screen while it casts a spell, which is every 5 seconds, then it will count as you facing the boss).
Those brave warriors who dared to block the Face of Decay will receive special orders (medals) from the developers:
Blue-orange for Legacy players; Red-green for Destiny players; Yellow-blue for Pendulum players; ??? for Prophecy players
Face of Decay Reward List
Once the Face of Decay is defeated, each participant will be able to open the massive chest in the Ghostlands, however, your reward will not depend on your level,
but on the amount of participation points you have earned (once you open the chest, you will be able to see how many points you collected in your Server Log window).
Participation points are granted to players for their help in clearing the waves, portals and bosses. To have a chance to get the best rewards, you will have to get at least 80,000 points,
30,000 for mid-tier rewards (and a lower chance at the best rewards!!!), anything below 30,000 and you will not have a chance to get the best rewards (for example the Watcher Set).
NOTE: Each player will receive 1-2 items from Grim's offer (or a Golden Pumpkin) and 1-3 unique reward items, this list will NOT include the items from Grim's offer, only notable rewards!
