Behavior: Beholders will keep their distance and cast many different kinds of spells. They summon Skeletons to block or trap their enemies.

Field notes: Fighting those creatures really depends on your luck. Some of them use barely any spells, others keep spamming. Lower levels need to be careful around those.

Location: Orc Fort, Maze of Lost Souls, Desert Dungeon, Ancient Temple, Vilias Dungeon (upper), Garrogat Hero Cave, Hellgate, Black Warrior's Villa, before Kazordoon city entrance, many tombs, Triangle Tower, shortcut back from Mintwallin and in the Venore Swamps, Forgula

Strategy:
Warriors: Chase down the Beholder as fast as possible. Their armor is weak so you should hit them pretty good. You can use corners to lure them. Do not try to navigate around the Skeletons but kill them to make a clear path to the Beholder.

Mages: should use HMM's on those. Keep in mind that they can combo you on lower levels.

Scouts: Can kill them pretty easy with Arrows/Bolts. Their low armor affects your damage too. You might want to think about stairhopping them as a low level.

All vocations can also use Fire Field and stairhop to kill those. Just shoot the rune on them and wait until the damage wears off. They do not heal themselves.

Loot: 0-60 gp, Longsword, Morning Star, Steel Shield, Wooden Shield, Spellbook, two handed sword (semi-rare), Beholder Shield (very rare)
