Properties

From Medivia Online Wiki

Equipment items and weapons sometimes have hidden 'active' or 'passive' effects which can come in the form of damage reduction, skill bonuses, light, speed, special attacks and more.
We call these effects properties, some of them are mentioned in the description of the item, but the large majority are hidden and can only be discovered through testing or spoilers.
They are similar to Attributes, but differ in the way that properties are inherently part of every individual item of a certain type (e.g. every Demonbone Armor naturally has a 2% poison resistance property), while attributes need to be added onto an item or have a chance to be on an item when looted.

Damage Reduction Properties

Damage reduction properties on items are always hidden and can only be discovered through testing or spoilers. They reduce the amount of damage taken from all hits of a certain or multiple damage types by a % amount (depending on the item).

Skill Increase Properties

Skill increase properties (or at least their numeric values) are usually hidden on items.
These increase your Magic Level, Distance Fighting or Melee Skills.

Magic Level


Mages can also increase their Magic Level by wearing equipment with the Intelligence Attribute (does not work for knights or archers).
The Pharaoh Robe and Umbral Robe also do not work for knights or archers, while the Angelic Legs provide them with different skill increases, but the wands and staves listed below do work for all vocations.

Speed

Speed in this case refers to a player's movement speed which is ordinarily gained with levels (visible within your skills window).
Speed increase from levels decreases as you get higher level (e.g. a lvl 40 might get 2-3 speed points per level, while at 300+ you get roughly only 1 speed point every 2-3 levels).

Players can increase their speed by wearing equipment with the Streamlined Attribute.

Damage Dealing Properties

These lists will display items which provide special damaging effects which inflict damage to creatures either passively while they're being used or actively by executing a special ability the item offers.

Passive Damage Dealing Properties


The following Attributes provide similar effects to passive damage properties:

  • Reflect - some physical dmg reflected back (some shields)
  • Gouge - chance to deal additional physical dmg over time (some melee weapons)
  • Vampirism - chance to deal additional life-drain damage and heal yourself (some swords)
  • Blood Worm - chance to deal additional physical and life-drain damage over time (Blood Mace)
  • Plague - chance to deal additional poison damage over time (some melee weapons)
  • Cursed - chance to deal additional death damage on hit (some melee weapons)
  • Frost Strike - chance to deal additional ice damage on hit (some melee weapons)
  • Flame Strike - chance to deal additional fire damage on hit (some melee weapons)
  • Electrified - chance to deal additional energy damage on hit (some melee weapons)
