Revision as of 19:09, 17 April 2024
Due to a variety of different kinds of wands obtainable on Medivia, this category will be split up into 3 sections:
- Explosive Rune Wands - wands, staves or scepters which can be used with Small Explosive Runes and offer mage properties such as Intelligence and attributes as well as some defense.
- Attack Wands - wands usable only by mages which deal elemental damage when used on a target, these also sometimes provide intelligence and some can also be used to shoot Small Explosive Runes.
- Decorative and other Wands - wands which have no purpose other than decoration or providing light.
Explosive Rune Wands
- These staves, wands and scepters can be used to cast Small Explosive Runes by placing the wand/staff in your hand and the runes inside your ammunition slot or rune pouch.
- Depending on whether they are one-handed or two-handed, the small explosive rune will either hit a single target or a 3x3 tile area surrounding the selected target.
- They give Intelligence and often other mage Properties and Attributes.
- They offer some defense and reduce physical damage with the Blocking formula, but counting the user's melee skill instead of the blocking skill.

One-handed (single target)
Two-handed (3x3 AoE)
Attack Wands
- These wands have a certain number of charges and can be recharged using the Recharge Wand spell (1 charge = 1 mana); different wands use a different number of charges per hit.
- They require a certain Magic Level to be used and can only be used by mages, their damage scales at a low level and magic level until it reaches a cap at which it remains regardless of how much more you advance, the values below will show this damage cap.
- They are all one-handed and can only be cast while held in a hand slot.
- They are not auto-attack and must be cast by right-clicking the wand and left-clicking a target on screen or in the battle window, the same as runes.

Decorative and other Wands
Most of these wands either provide some light or are purely decorative.
The Magical Wand and Goofy Wand have some fun effects which can be learned about on their own item pages.
The Magic Wand and Ritual Wand provide 1 magic level to the wielder regardless of the vocation, so they are often used by knights before they reach magic level 9 so they can use Magic Wall runes. They can also not be used with a shield, as they are technically 0 Def shields, and even if you use them with a weapon that offers defense your Def will still be counted from the wand as 0.
